Originally part of the Trinity College campus (in fact, the original site of Duke University), it became integrated with West Campus after that campus's completion. The campus became freshman-only only a few years ago.

[edit] Catacombs

A series of tunnels run under the old freshman dorms which face the lawn that stretchs from the east campus bus stop to Baldwin. These tunnels are occasionally left unlocked, and it has become customary for freshman (or indeed, students in general) to wander them at some point before they graduate. This led to their inclusion in the graduation requirements.
