Dance Slam
From Duke Wiki
DanceSLAM is one of Duke's outstanding dance clubs. We focus primarily on lyrical, jazz, and hip-hop styles. However, since we are a student-run organization, the club transforms each year depending on the students' interests. We are always open to trying new styles, from ballet to swing and tango.
In contrast with many of the other dance clubs on campus, we do not require auditions. We welcome anyone who loves to dance, regardless of previous training or experience. This makes for a truly unique blend of dancers, with each individual bringing his or her own style to the club.
We rehearse twice a week in Wilson Gym on West Campus. We put on our own show during the spring semester featuring pieces choreographed by our members. We can also be seen in a variety of other shows and performance venues on campus during both semesters.
