[edit] The History of babbledocket

Launched in 2007, babbledocket (http://www.babbledocket.com/duke) is an independent and non-profit website aimed at providing a venue for students, faculty, and administrators to advertise their events or stay informed about what's happening on campus. Originally started at Duke University, the site has since been used as a tool for collaboration between students at Duke and students at the University of Carolina Chapel-Hill. Future expansion of the site to all schools in the Triangle will include North Carolina Central University and North Carolina State.

We, on the babbledocket team, hope that our application can be used as a tool for students to help communicate with other students about what is available to get involved with: creating a more informed campus, providing a better venue for advertising events and increasing opportunities for students to come together. The personal features of the site allow individuals to decide what is most important to them by tracking events ('docking') for revisitation or simply to receive reminders about what is going on…so you never again miss something fun on campus.
